Synopsis 

This season Girl, Awake! Project is going digital! We are committed to keep our cast and audiences safe during the pandemic so we are going digital! Stay tuned for our alumni digital season! Girls from past seasons are uniting through the power of the internet to keep our project going in a way that is safe, fun and informative! 
​Girl, Awake! is an original production written by Brook A. Bassett. Charismatic girls between the ages of 9 and 17 present topics utilizing many theatrical forms, including spoken word poetry, dancing, monologues, video projections, singing, and more. Each subject matter is multilayered to be accessible for all ages and genders to enjoy. Backed by statistics, demographics, historical precedence, and personal experience, all subject matter is approached with grace and uses age-appropriate material.​

About International Day of the Girl

​Girl, Awake! began as a celebration of International Day of the Girl. On December 19, 2011, the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 66/170 to declare 11 October as the International Day of the Girl Child to recognize girls’ rights and the unique challenges girls face around the world.
